April's New Moon Orts

It's a new moon and time for the April TUSAL  ort report. Below are my orts for April so far,  lots of great color mostly from the two projects I am currently working on.
I'm so glad I keep my orts in my little thread catcher (barely visible in the photo) because I needed a short piece of green to finish off part of a leaf on the greenman and I didn't want to cut a full length and split the thread when I knew I would be moving to my other project.

The blue fabric the orts are sitting on will soon be used for another spirit doll, in the meantime I need to pull out the satin floss to start the moon that is barely visible in the photo but is in the left corner of the tree.
So that concludes my Ort reporting for April, if you are curious about what a TUSAL is head on over to check it out.  https://itsdaffycat.blogspot.com/2018/01/a-totally-useless-stitch-long.html

The new Gail Pan book arrived in today's mail I pre-ordered a few months ago and can't wait to start the projects in this book.
I love the the simplicity of Gail Pan's designs and would love to just trace each pattern in the book page by page so they are ready for stitching but I have a few projects waiting in the wings and I need to complete the 2 pictured here first.

It's all slow today, stitching and recovery, and a ort report.

I think there is finally a light at the end of this tunnel after seeing the doctor last Monday with a round of steroids to go along with the antibiotics the coughing has dropped off to a minor a-hem as if I were clearing the throat before a long winded speech.
The low blood pressure has me a little concerned so I am monitoring for a few weeks to see if it was just a result of the illness or the over the counter medication I was taking.

The vitamin D deficiency was a surprise which I am taking mega doses of Vitamin D3 and trying to get more sunshine, truth is I haven't spent as much time in my garden over the last year so I need to remedy that, my diet is healthy but as with everything else can be improved. Frankly, I am tired of being tired! this week I was out and about for a while, these short trips out of the house zapped all my energy and upon return I'd sleep for a few hours.

I did manage to get more stitching done on block six so I will be linking up over at Kathy's quilts today
and for Monday's linky party at

block six progress

There is always some thing wonderful going on over at these sites lots of beautiful stitching by some very creative bloggers, take a moment or two to check them out.

Oh here is my TUSAL report for the month of April, I missed the new moon by a few days but here are my orts all the same.
April orts
These orts come mostly from the Hamsa hand and a few mending projects I had to do, and a few black threads from the on going Hocuspocusville quilt.
Hamsa Hand
Finally before I post this I did manage to visit a nursery this week where I picked up several herb plants for my garden.  I'll plant those in a window box or large pot today and start to soak in some of that much needed sunshine.

Orts Jar
orts
The Orts for this  month come mainly from the Greenman #2 hand embroidery piece.  Yesterday I was able to put in some quality stitching time.
The top half of the Greenman's leaves are completely stitched and today I plan to start on the bottom half.  The photo doesn't do justice to the piece it is quite stunning up close.

More ort threads to be sorted for longer pieces I will still use the others will be tossed in my Orts jar
which I need to tamp down which I will do when this piece is completed. The lone blue yarn piece
is from the shawl I am crocheting which I work on when my fingers are too sore to hold onto the needle.
The shawl has reached thirty four inches in width and still growing, I am pleased with the results and I like the simple pattern stitch.
Well that's all for this month's TUSAL. I am off to an Arts and Crafts festival.
Happy Stitching
