It's all slow today, stitching and recovery, and a ort report.

I think there is finally a light at the end of this tunnel after seeing the doctor last Monday with a round of steroids to go along with the antibiotics the coughing has dropped off to a minor a-hem as if I were clearing the throat before a long winded speech.
The low blood pressure has me a little concerned so I am monitoring for a few weeks to see if it was just a result of the illness or the over the counter medication I was taking.

The vitamin D deficiency was a surprise which I am taking mega doses of Vitamin D3 and trying to get more sunshine, truth is I haven't spent as much time in my garden over the last year so I need to remedy that, my diet is healthy but as with everything else can be improved. Frankly, I am tired of being tired! this week I was out and about for a while, these short trips out of the house zapped all my energy and upon return I'd sleep for a few hours.

I did manage to get more stitching done on block six so I will be linking up over at Kathy's quilts today
and for Monday's linky party at

block six progress

There is always some thing wonderful going on over at these sites lots of beautiful stitching by some very creative bloggers, take a moment or two to check them out.

Oh here is my TUSAL report for the month of April, I missed the new moon by a few days but here are my orts all the same.
April orts
These orts come mostly from the Hamsa hand and a few mending projects I had to do, and a few black threads from the on going Hocuspocusville quilt.

Finally before I post this I did manage to visit a nursery this week where I picked up several herb plants for my garden.  I'll plant those in a window box or large pot today and start to soak in some of that much needed sunshine.

My TUSAL Report, February Orts and Tatting

The New Moon was yesterday and I forgot to post a photo of my orts for TUSAL so without further delay here are my orts since the last full moon.
Orts February
Most of the black threads are from the Hocuspocusville embroidery blocks I am working on, there are a few purple and blue floss threads from other projects, and some khaki and black sewing threads. All those white threads are bits of threads fraying from the muslin fabric.

Here is my progress on block number five to date the first part of the house is nearly complete. Yeah!

Well that concludes my TUSAL report for the month of February, not sure what a TUSAL is, jump on over to It's Daffy Cats blog and read all about it, I'm so glad I did, its one of those little motivators that helps keep me stitching each month

One of these days I still want to learn how to tat, my LYS used to offer a tatting class but it hasn't been on the calendar for quite some time so I entered a give away to for some supplies and hopeful with patience (and a YouTube video) I will teach myself to tat, the give away is hosted over at the Stitching Lotus blog here:

Slow Sunday Stitching and Orts to report

Another Sunday is upon us and I'm happy to say its been a productive week thanks in part to the dark clouds and rainy days.  I made progress on my hand emboridery piece, this is the first time I'm using

the stitch and wash away product aside from it coming up off the fabric it smooths right back down and is easy to stitch through and no stickiness. perhaps next time I will baste it around the edges. I will be linking this post at Kathy's Quilts as part of the Slow Sunday Stitching. Click here to see what other bloggers are hand stitching today.
 http://www.kathysquilts.blogspot.ca/2016/01/slow-sunday-stitching_10.html

Speaking of hand stitching, yesterday I posted a block for the Project 48 Quilt I am taking part in, well today I am going to hand piece another block one using more fabric scraps from my stash.
I love hand piecing so I'm going to try to make a hand pieced block along with a machine pieced block for this project if time allows.

Now for my first TUSAL(Totally Useless Stitch A Long) report for 2016, here are my orts for January's new moon, there are a few odd color threads used for quick sewing projects and the black
thread is from the hocuspocusville quilt I worked on the first of the month, purple from my current

embroidery and light sewing thread from my quilt block I pieced yesterday those threads are from the few times I had to pull out a stitching.  If you aren't sure what a TUSAL is hop on over to It's Daffy Cats blog and check it out.  These two sites keep me motivated and inspired to stitch more.
