My health continues to improve and Tuesday I showed a loss of 3 pounds which is always a good feeling. My daily walks have been scattered at different times of the day usually to avoid the rain so a few days I found myself walking in the early afternoon, great on the beach not so great at the park I forget how oppressive the heat and humidity can be at that time of day.
It's been a very lovely week with daily rain finally giving the dry garden and lawn a good soaking. I don't have any photos to show today but I can say I have lots of weeds to pull this week.
This week I am reading the first book in the new series by Terri DuLong, Patterns of Change, so far I
am enjoying the book. This new series takes place in Ormond Beach, Florida, where the author recently relocated to from Cedar Key, FL. (which is where her other series took place). Ormond Beach is one of the beaches I go to when I don't drive up to Flagler beach and its one of the cities I am househunting in. My new issue of Tea Time magazine came on Saturday along with a few letters so later today I will be putting aside time to write a few replies and see whats happening in the world of tea.
On Friday I passed up my usual trip to the beach and headed out to Citrus Springs to see my sister and grandniece. They have recently moved here from Texas, they are renting the house for a month until the closing on the house in Crystal River which isn't too far from where she is now. She moved to Texas last year because she didn't want to deal with all the snowy winters any longer, but she didn't like Texas at all too, too hot in the summer. She lived here in Florida when our mother lived here so she knows much of the area. I haven't seen my sister in over a decade and seeing my grandniece was pure pleasure. Her husband will join her in October, he works in insurance and is now in Oregon, and barring any tornadoes or hurricanes or other related disasters he should be there until he retires in a few months.
Anyway my sister and niece will be in town once a week for the bounce house so I plan to meet up with her when I can so she doesn't feel so isolated and we can perhaps start to mend those broken fences that kept me away for so long.
Nice work, you're almost there and glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the heat. I'm a way's away from a beach in Ocala....but try to get over to the atlantic coast a couple times a year. So nice you get to reconnect with family. I hope the mending goes well.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss and the improved health. It has been in the 80s each morning when I get up and tonight it was 89 degrees at 7pm. The high heat and humidity have made my daily walks impossible. Hocuspocusville is looking great. It is great that you had a visit with your sister.
ReplyDeleteHeat has been so bad on the east coast... we lucked out with a rain storm tonight that lowered the temperature -- from 100 or so. Ugh! I really like your hocus-pocus block. Enjoy finishing it.
ReplyDeleteStitching your hocuspocus and mending fences... sounds like a wonderful plan!
